If your requirements for pure nitrogen are less than plant capacity, consider a nitrogen liquefier. This solution would liquefy a surplus of production for back up or for sale. If your required oxygen purity is above 95% of oxygen, consider a cryogenic plant instead of PSA units. A cryogenic installation would allow you to make pure gas nitrogen under pressure from the cold box as well as 5-7% of the total product may be produced as liquid. Also the ASU has a smaller foot print than a PSA unit of the same capacity.
If you want to make argon for sale or for your own use and your ASU location is in the USA or in Europe, consider a cryogenic purification unit instead of hydrogen-based purification.
If you need more than 100 mtpd oxygen, consider having an argon recovery unit for this size plant. The cost of argon continues to rise and there is a shortage in Argon supply market.
